The first major trip I took outside of Spain was to Paris, France on the 25th of September. Olivia and Taylor-Ann were going to be there for the weekend before their program started, so Patrick and I booked flights to meet them. The original plan was to meet up at Oktoberfest the weekend before, but flights were too expensive. I'd say Paris was a fair trade-off.
Since we only had a couple days to explore the city, we hit the ground running after checking into our apartment and taking a quick nap. Our first stop was the Cathedral of Notre Dame. I've seen several pictures and read about Notre Dame before, but this was a whole different experience. Tourists from all over the world lined up to get a glimpse of the interior of cathedral. The inside was stunning, but we hurried through in order to see more of the city. Over the course of the day we walked through the streets of Paris and stopped for pictures at several locations including the lock bridge, the Luxembourg Garden, the Pantheon, and the Arc De Triomphe. By this time it was getting dark, so we decided to walk to the Eiffel Tower and watch it light up from a distance.
The next day we dedicated most of our time to The Louvre, one of the most famous museums in the world. I'm not joking when I say that we spent 4-5 hours inside and barely scratched the surface of all the art work there was to see. I definitely would love to come back and explore more of the museum. Despite the time constraints, we did get the chance to see the Mona Lisa (It's really small) and other super famous paintings and sculptures that I forget the name of.
After a long day at the museum we decided to see the Eiffel Tower up close and during the day. Instead of paying a fortune to go half way up the tower, we decided to eat our lunch by the tower instead and take our final pictures. At the end of the day we didn't get to see everything we wanted to in Paris, but I couldn't have asked for a better trip with my friends, family, and girlfriend.
